What is it?

Hans de Zwart wanted to learn about using 3D technology to enhance learning. He found a great book on the topic and organized his own virtual reading group. He found 10 people inside his organization and 10 learning leaders from outside. Each week two people were responsible for writing a summary of the chapter for that week and posting it online on the blog. Each week ended with a short 30 minute teleconference session in which two questions about the chapter were discussed.

Why is it DIY?

Hans needed to learn more about a topic and rather than finding a course to learn more or doing a piece of isolated learning (reading a book by yourself), he created his own group of peers with similar interest and learned together.
